Taiwan-based multinational electronics company, AOC, which is popular for its LED and LCD displays globally, on Wednesday made a grand entry into the smartphone and tablet market in India. The company has introduced two smartphones (M601 & E40) and a 3G calling tablet (D70V50G) priced under INR 10,000 ($160).

AOC’s new products are geared at younger generation, with a penchant for a new technology at affordable prices.

Commenting on new smartphones, Mr. Atul Jasra – Business head, AOC India said “The Indian smart-device market is undergoing an exciting phase – with the customers preferring features and value for money over high-decibel-branded products.”

AOC E40 Smartphone

The new E40 smartphone flaunts a 4-inch multi-touch display and dual SIM slots. The device packs 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. E40 is powered by a 1.2GHz MTK6572 dual core processor and runs on Android KitKat OS.

On the camera front, E40 is equipped with 2MP rear camera with LED flash support and 0.3MP fron shooter. Under the hood, the 1600 mAh Li-ion battery offers 3G talk time of about 13 hours and 3G standby time up to 100 hours.

The E40 will sell at Rs 4,490 and will come in Black and White colors.

AOC M601 Smartphone

The 6-inch smartphone, M601 is powered by a 1.3GHz MTK8312 dual core processor and Android KitKat OS. The phone’s IPS capacitive multi-touch display has resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Coming to the storage, M601 packs 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. Connectivity includes 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro USB Port and FM Radio. M610 is powered by a 2100mAh battery.

As for the camera, M601 sports auto-focus 5MP rear shooter with LED flash support and a 0.3MP front camera. The M601 is priced at Rs 7,990 and is available in black and flamingo red colors.

AOC D70V50G Tablet

The dual-SIM based D70V50G tablet supports voice-calling feature. The tablet sports a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is powered by a dual-core MediaTek MT8321 processor. On the storage front, the tablet packs 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. D70V50G includes a 2MP rear camera with smile shot feature and 0.3MP front-facing camera. The device sells at Rs. 7,750 and comes in Black and Metallic Grey options.
