Samsung is now rolling out a new Android 8.0 Oreo beta for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. This could be the final beta update for these devices. The new beta is currently rolling out to users in India and the countries that were part of the second phase of the rollout.
The software version of this new beta is ZRA5 and it is available as an OTA to those who are running the previous Oreo beta. The update doesn’t bring anything new to the phones, but it does include several bug fixes and other system improvements. It also installs the latest January Android security patch.
As we already mentioned earlier, this is most likely the final Oreo beta for these devices. In about a week or two, users should start receiving the final stable Oreo update. Samsung had mentioned that the beta program ends on January 15, which is only a few days away.
Various Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ models have even shown up on Wi-Fi Alliance with Android Oreo on board. If you haven’t received this new beta update yet, then you may have to manually check for it. Head over to Settings > Software Update and select Download Updates manually.
