It’s nearly been a couple of months since Andy Rubin unveiled the Essential Phone promising that the handset will ship within 30 days. Well, the date came and went and yet there’s been no word from the company regarding the same.

Acknowledging this, Andy Rubin sent out an email to potential customers saying that the handset will start shipping “in a few weeks.”

He said that the Essential Phone is currently “going through certification and testing with multiple US and international carriers.” So, once the testing is done, the product should arrive at the doorsteps of folks who have registered for the product already.

Rubin also said that his team has been “hard at work” and “working long hours” to get the product delivered as soon as possible — likely sometime in August.

Now that Andy Rubin has given an official confirmation, it finally seems like we are not very far from the shipping date. Let’s see what happens. Meanwhile, let us know how many of you have registered for the handset already.
