Update [Nov 20]: Xiaomi has, for some reason, postponed the deadline date for the application to join the Android 9 Pie beta program for Mi A2 Lite users. Initially, this was to end over the weekend but it has now been extended to this Thursday, November 22nd. The application is still open to all regions across the globe.
[Original post]: Most people don’t like heavily customized Android custom skins like MIUI just because of the delay this causes when it comes to receiving software updates, especially major OS upgrades. This, in fact, is the reason Xiaomi still got haters, otherwise, the Mi and Redmi phones are some of the best out there, more so when it comes to value for money.
To partially address this software updates dilemma, Xiaomi hoped onto the Android One ship, Google’s program that mimics the search giant’s approach to software experience and timely updates. For those who bought into this idea with the latest Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, it’s time to reap the rewards.
