A few days ago, Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 users in Europe and the UAE started receiving an update that installed Android 8.0 Oreo on the budget smartphone and today, more users are joining the party, this time from Vietnam, where the same device goes by the name Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro.

The region has the model number SM-J330G, which is the same variant that’s sold in a host of other Asian countries. The J3 Pro Oreo update is now rolling out over the air and comes with software version J330GDXU3BRH1 and besides Oreo, you also get a new security update for the month of June 2018. Being an OTA update, not every user of the Galaxy J3 Pro will receive the download notification at the same time, rather, the whole process may take days or even weeks before every single unit gets the nod.

Also, since this model is sold in multiple countries, we expect that the affected markets will soon start to see the Oreo OTA download notification on their Galaxy J3 handsets. If you have this model, now might be the perfect time to start bugging the Software update button in the Settings menu and maybe you might get lucky to grab a manual update.
