It seems like something went wrong with the test submission made on behalf of the Xperia (Xperia Z, Z1 and Z1 Compact) to Telestra and according to the carrier, the devices will now receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop in August.
The Australian carrier revealed that some major issues came up during a test submission made on the 1st of May. The go-ahead for the update will now be given if the second submission — which is to be made on the 10th of July — is successful and is expected to be given a go ahead around August.
However, owing to the popularity of the Z series, it’s all too likely that the company releases the update earlier to its devices before it releases it to the Australian carrier. In any case the update will see the daylights once the submission is made and is successful, which still points to a date sometime in late July or early August at the earliest.
