Samsung will soon release Android 9 Pie updates for the Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy S8 Active devices in the U.S., probably by the end of June 2019.
The two devices have been cleared by the Wi-Fi Alliance running Android Pie, suggesting the rollout is only a few weeks away.
T-Mobile has been testing Pie for the S8 Active for a few weeks now, which explains why model SM-G892U of the device is on the list. This variant is also sold through Sprint while AT&T has model SM-G892A, which has also been cleared to receive Pie.
Also in the WFA’s books are multiple variants of the Tab S3 with model numbers SM-T820, SM-T825, SM-T825C, SM-T825X, SM-T825Y, and SM-T827. These model numbers are for both the Wi-Fi-only and LTE variants.
It’s worth noting that the supposed end of June release date isn’t confirmed, but normally, it takes anywhere between two and six weeks for the OS to arrive after a device appears on the WFA.
