Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge sets are in for the 5.1.1 update starting today. Firmware has already been spotted for the S6 sets at Korean telecom companies — KT corporation and SK Telecom and LG Uplus.

It’s the first 5.1.1 update for the Korean Galaxy phones, where either the Galaxy Note Edge 5.1.1 update has reached, nor the rare-Galaxy S5 5.1.1 build. The international and T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and S6 sets received the Android 5.1.1 update long before.

The update in Korea completes the rollout of 5.1.1 update in all major markets for Samsung, with only AT&T and Verizon users in USA left wanting for now. Here’s hoping the wait isn’t too long for already-frustrated Verizon S6 users, who did receive an update a while ago, which blocked root exploits and prevented download — all while running Android 5.0!

We think the 5.1.1 build for S6 and S6 Edge will block the downgrade ability of the Korean sets too, just like it did to other sets already on 5.1.1.

If you don’t get the OTA update, download the firmware of your choice, that is to say, the one compatible with your device (check model no.) from below:
