It’s raining features with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. We’re yet to see the update in action on our Nexus devices or even in an emulator using the SDK, which is going to be available on 17th Oct.. But as soon as we get the update, the first feature we’re going to try is probably the instant device setup feature of Android 5.0 which lets you setup your new android Lollipop running device easily via NFC by tapping your phone to your older device.

Tap & go device setup feature of Android L works by bringing together your old Android device with NFC enabled, close to your Lollipop running device and your new device will automatically import settings from your old Android phone and finish the setup instantly.

Also, Android lets you automatically download all apps from your previous phone to the new via Google Play Store, this isn’t a new feature but combined with the new instant setup feature in Android 5.0, it makes switching devices seamless. Only problem though is restoring app data, which Google hasn’t addressed yet even after so many requests from Android users regarding this.
