Back in late March, a new firmware for the Xperia P was seen getting certification, hinting at an imminent release of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. Well, this week that update is finally going to start rolling out over the air for the device, along with the Xperia go and Xperia E dual.

The Xperia P and go update was originally scheduled for a release in late March which didn’t exactly pan out, but it’s great that Sony didn’t delay much further and has also decided to add the E dual to the mix, which oddly launched with Android 4.0 instead of Android 4.1 unlike the single SIM Xperia E. Also, after these devices get the update, the Xperia S, SL, ion and acro S are next in line to get Android 4.1.

The update will add new features such as a stamina mode for longer battery life, new and more “intuitive” versions of Sony’s WALKMAN, Album and Movies apps, and the usual Jelly Bean features like Google Now, smoother and more responsive interface, rich expandable notifications, offline voice dictation, faster browser performance, and lots more.
