Another day, and another Samsung device is getting an update to a newer version of Android, albeit a minor one. This time, it’s not a smartphone or tablet, but the Galaxy Camera, Samsung’s Android-powered 16 megapixel camera – the update to Android 4.1.2 is now rolling out for it in the United Kingdom, both over the air and via Samsung’s Kies software.

As already mentioned, Android 4.1.2 is a minor update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, bringing along performance and stability enhancements and the ability to collapse or expand notifications using a single finger. Android 4.2 is no doubt the update everyone is waiting for, but the changes in 4.1.2 will have to keep people happy while they wait to get around to the next Android version, for which they’ve already announced plans.

It could be a while before you get a notification for the update, so be sure to hit that Check for updates button in the Settings » About device menu or hook the camera to the computer and manually check for the update via Kies. We’ll be sure to post a manual upgrade guide once the full firmware becomes available, so those not in the UK can also update to Android 4.1.2 without having to wait for their region to receive it.

Here some screenshots from the Android 4.1.2 update.
