It’s become somewhat of a fixation with the custom Android development community to provide ROMs with that pure fast stock Android experience as found on Google’s Nexus line of devices, without any custom UI like TouchWiz on top. R3mor3ma AOSP Edition is an Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 based custom ROM for the Galaxy S2 that aims for exactly that, a no-frills stock Android 4.0 experience.

The ROM removes a lot of stock apps found on other ROMs, so expect to see an app menu with only a single page of essential apps. Also, the ROM is based on CM9, which is under development, so a few bugs/issues are to be expected.

Let’s take a look at how you can install R3mor3ma AOSP Edition ROM on your Galaxy S2 i9100.

Compatibility

This ROM and the guide below are compatible only and only with the Samsung Galaxy S2, model number i9100. It’s not compatible with any other device. Check your device model in Settings » About phone.

Warning!

The methods and procedures discussed here are considered risky and you should not attempt anything if you don’t know completely what it is. If any damage occurs to your device, we won’t be held liable.

  8. Select wipe data/factory reset, then select Yes on next screen to confirm. Wait a while till the data wipe is complete.
