Android 10 DP5 for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro released

OnePlus 7 Pro Android Q

OnePlus has started rolling out Android Q (10) Developer Preview 5 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro.

If you are a OnePlus enthusiast, you might already be aware of the company’s Android 10 Developer Preview program. It gives enthusiastic users a chance to experience the latest software ahead of anyone else, in exchange for notifying OnePlus of known bugs and issues.

Standing only days away from Google’s official Android 10 unveiling, Developer Preview 5 could very well be the last beta to roll out from OnePlus’ stable. It’s based on Google Android 10 Beta 6 and brings a couple of necessary system refinements. OnePlus has also bundled in full-screen gestures with the update.

Here’s the full changelog according to OnePlus:

  • System functions improvement
  • System stability improvement
  • Added the OnePlus full-screen gestures
  • Based on Google Android 10 Beta6
  • For DP4 users, you can upgrade via online OTA
  • From DP5, you can upgrade system via OTA to Open Beta

The company has also acknowledged the issues that persist.

Known issues

  • Application compatibility problems
  • Compatibility issues with Google Pay
  • Low probability of system lag and stability issues

OnePlus is expected to roll out the stable Android 10 within 15 days of Google’s official unveiling. The OnePlus 7 series is scheduled to get the update ahead of any other OnePlus device.

Meanwhile, OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro are in the pipeline and will come with Android 10 out of the box.
