Alleged HTC U images leaked

The leaks about HTC’s flagship smartphone, HTC U, have intensified. Giving us a proper look at the upcoming HTC smartphone, a new leak has flown in from China showing the HTC U in all possible angles.

HTC has preferred to stick to the bezel-less trend as can be seen from the leaked HTC U image. The fingerprint scanner is conspicuously absent in the front with slight bezels of proportionate size embracing the top and bottom of the smartphone. The front camera sits at the upper bezel while the brand name occupies the bottom part.

The rear panel of the HCT U sports the camera and a LED flash. Surprisingly, the fingerprint scanner can’t be located here as well, leading us to believe that HTC has worked its way into embedding it either into the screen or on the side bezels.

As seen in the image above, the power and volume control buttons, which usually are located on the sides of a phone, are also absent in HTC U. This falls in line with other rumors suggesting that the device will sport touch sensitive bezels. Thus, we believe the power and volume controls will be in the side bezels, and may be the fingerprint scanner as well.

HTC U is touted to sport a 5.5-inch WQHD (1400 x 2560 pixels) display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. It will pack in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage space. On the camera section, there will be a 12MP rear sensor and a 16MP selfie snapper. The phone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with the company’s Sense 9 UI on top and carry a 3000mAH battery. The HTC U is slated for a release this month followed by a global launch in early May.
