Acer‘s latest Android tablet, the Iconia Tab A110, has been officially announced for the US and Canada, with a release date set for October 20th at an affordable price tag of $229.99, making the A110 similar to the Nexus 7 in pricing as well as specs.
The Iconia A110 sports a 1.2GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 7″ display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 1GB RAM, 2 megapixel front camera, 8GB storage and a microSD slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI port, microUSB port for connecting external accessories, 3420 mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
While the specs are similar to the Nexus 7, the inclusion of a microSD slot, better 2 megapixel camera, and the HDMI and microUSB ports make the extra $30 that you will need to shell out worthwhile. Though in a holiday season that is going to see the launch of affordable tablets like the 32GB Nexus 7 as well as the Apple iPad Mini, finding an audience might not be too easy for Acer.
