Where to find the hut

The hut you need is located within the New Camp’s cave settlement. Head into the cave village area and look for the distinctive hut with a blue-colored roof. This is the property currently occupied by Shrike and the one required for the quest.

How to claim the hut from Shrike

Step #1 – Travel to the New Camp cave village

Enter the cave village section of the New Camp and locate the blue-roofed hut. Make sure Shrike is nearby before proceeding.

Step #2 – Lure Shrike inside

Approach Shrike and draw him into or near the hut. You will need to confront him directly to progress the quest.

Step #3 – Defeat Shrike in combat

Fight Shrike until he is knocked down. As with many human NPC encounters in Gothic, you do not need to kill him. Continue the fight until he falls and becomes available for conversation.

Step #4 – Claim ownership of the hut

Speak to Shrike while he is defeated. A special dialogue option becomes available that allows you to tell him that the hut now belongs to you.

Step #5 – Watch Shrike leave

After the conversation, Shrike accepts the outcome and leaves the area, officially giving up the hut.
