How to unlock TacSim mode in 007 First Light
TacSim is not available immediately when you begin the game. You need to advance through the opening chapter first and reach the point where James Bond gains access to his MI6 field equipment.
Step 1
Play through Chapter 1 of the main campaign until you arrive at the MI6 section where you receive your gadgets. Continue following the main objectives normally, as TacSim access is tied directly to story progression.

Step 2
After receiving your gadgets, wait for the TacSim unlock notification. Once this appears, the Tactical Simulation mode becomes available and you can start accessing its challenges.

Step 3
Enter TacSim to begin your first available activities. At the start, you can access Advanced Combat Training and Advanced Melee Training, which introduce you to more focused combat scenarios.

How TacSim missions work in 007 First Light
TacSim is divided into different challenge categories designed to test your mastery of weapons, gadgets, stealth, and combat techniques. While the first options are limited, more activities open as you progress.
| TacSim activity | Description |
|---|---|
| Operations | Larger challenge stages with specific objectives and scenarios to complete |
| Escalations | Three-tier missions where difficulty increases with each stage |
| Training | Focused activities built around improving combat and melee skills |
Operations provide bigger simulation areas with unique challenges, while Escalations push your skills further by adding tougher requirements across multiple tiers. Completing the campaign expands the available TacSim mission selection.

How to unlock TacSim rewards and customization items
TacSim progression is based around completing challenges, earning intel, and increasing your rank. Intel works as the main reward currency used to purchase items from the TacSim store.
| Reward type | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Outfits | Purchase with intel or unlock by reaching required TacSim ranks |
| Gadget upgrades | Earn through TacSim progression and rewards |
| Weapons | Unlock using TacSim rewards system |
| Weapon skins | Available through customization rewards |
| Gadget skins | Unlocked through TacSim progression |
The TacSim store includes three unique outfits. One outfit can be purchased for 1,000 intel, while the remaining outfits require reaching higher TacSim ranks, including rank 6 and rank 12.

How to progress faster in TacSim challenges
The best way to progress is to complete all available training missions first before moving into harder Operations and Escalations. These early challenges help you understand enemy behavior, gadget usage, and combat mechanics while building your TacSim rank.
As you unlock harder missions, focus on completing objectives efficiently to earn more intel. Higher ranks will gradually open access to better rewards and additional customization choices.
TacSim becomes one of the main ways to continue improving after the story missions, offering replayable challenges and exclusive rewards. Unlocking it early gives you access to combat practice, while completing the campaign opens the full selection of Operations and Escalations. Keep earning intel and increasing your rank to collect every outfit, weapon upgrade, and cosmetic reward available.
