In Crimson Desert‘s frozen Pailune region, these secret weapons offer unique combat options tied to the Odeck tribe. Players often miss them due to the multi-step quest prerequisites starting after main story progression.
Prerequisites to unlock Pailune and factions
Reach Chapter 8 “Blood Coronation” in the main story to access Pailune fully. This involves liberating the area through story events like “Healing Pailune.”
Start with Pailune Militia faction quests—complete at least 15 of the 27 available. These appear upon arriving in Pailune and involve local defense and exploration tasks.
Completing Skoghorn and Longleaf tribe quests
After sufficient Militia progress, Skoghorn or Longleaf tribe quests unlock (order may vary). Finish all quests in one (2-3 total), then the other unlocks automatically.
Fast travel back to Pailune after each chain to trigger the next. These involve tribal aid, combat, and resource gathering in the icy outskirts.
How to finish the Odeck tribe quest chain
With prior factions done, Odeck tribe and Stargazer clan quests appear in Pailune. Focus on Odeck: Accept “Execution of Justice.”
Step 1
Travel to the quest marker in Odeck territory.
Encounter red smoke pots—stab or cleave them directly instead of prolonged fighting.
Step 2
Defeat the Ashen Warrior boss immediately after. Use quick dodges against its heavy attacks.
Step 3
Complete “Ashen Execution” objectives, earning an Umber Ankh weapon reward.
Step 4
Liberate the Odeck area fully, securing the zone.
Locating and accessing the secret merchant
Fast travel to the now-liberated Odeck/Pailune site. The merchant appears on the map as a vendor icon.
Approach the specific NPC in the camp—he stocks the weapons alongside items like logging axes and halberds.
Gift the merchant hides (any type) to reach trust level 100 for potential bonuses. Inventory refreshes standardly.
Rewards from Odeck chain and weapons
Beyond weapons, gain Umber Ankh from the boss, zone liberation perks, and faction reputation.
These Odeck exclusives provide early access to themed gear with solid stats like critical rates and elemental hints, ideal for Pailune’s harsh combats. They enhance builds without heavy grinding once unlocked.
