What to know
-
Blue rarity gear is Level 36 and relies on Ferrium Components as a core crafting material.
-
Ferrium Ore is primarily found in the Originium Science Park area, which you reach by progressing the Act 1 story.
-
Mining Ferrium typically requires an Electric Mining Rig Mk. II unlocked via the Mining III node in the AIC Index.
-
Gear crafting uses your Automated Industry Complex, and gear is made from Decryption Crystals plus a refined-ore product chain (Ferrium → Ferrium Component → gear).
In Arknights Endfield, one of the Node challenges asks you to “assemble 4 pieces of blue quality gear”. Doing so mainly comes down to producing enough Ferrium Components (the mid-game, Level 36 blue-gear material) and then crafting the four gear pieces in Gear Assembly. Here’s everything you need to know to do so:

Why Ferrium Components are the key for blue gear
Ferrium Components are specifically used to craft Level 36 blue rarity gear, so if you’re stuck, it’s usually because your Ferrium Component pipeline isn’t producing fast enough.

At a system level, Endfield’s gear crafting revolves around Decryption Crystals (enemy drops) plus a refined-ore product chain, and for blue gear that chain centers on Ferrium.
Locations
The most commonly Ferrium farming area is Originium Science Park, and you may find multiple Ferrium Ore fields there (including nodes near the entrance/road and deeper in the region).

If you’re still early, there’s also a Ferrium field near the Core AIC Area in Valley IV that can serve as a starter node, but larger-scale production typically pushes you toward the Science Park cluster.
How to assemble 4 pieces of blue quality gear
Step 1: Confirm you’ve unlocked blue gear crafting requirements
Blue rarity gear recipes are tied to your progression systems (notably Authority Level for recipes), so first ensure your account progression has unlocked the relevant gear recipe(s) you want to craft.
Also verify your Operators can equip the mid-game Ferrium gear tier (commonly referenced as needing Outfitting I for Level 36 blue gear).
Step 2: Secure Ferrium Ore access in Originium Science Park
Progress the story until Originium Science Park is accessible, since that region is a primary source of Ferrium Ore nodes used for the blue-gear tier.

If you need to plan routes, documented node callouts include areas like west of the Transport Nexus, south of the Research Center, and north of the Mountain Path Slope.

Step 3: Unlock the correct mining tech for Ferrium
Ferrium can’t be mined with basic automated miners in many setups, so you’ll want the Electric Mining Rig Mk. II unlocked via the Mining III node in the AIC Index.
Once unlocked, place rigs on Ferrium Ore mineral beds and route output to storage/bank so your factory line stays fed.
Step 4: Refine Ferrium and start the Ferrium Component chain
Process Ferrium Ore through a Refinement Unit to produce Ferrium, then route it into a Gearing Unit with Origiocrust to create Ferrium Components.

This “Ferrium + Origiocrust → Ferrium Component” step is the conversion that turns raw mining output into the actual blue-gear crafting material.
Step 5: Stockpile Decryption Crystals while your factory runs
Gear crafting also needs Decryption Crystals, which are obtained by defeating enemies, so you’ll want to fight while your automation line produces components.
If you’re short on crystals, your component pile won’t matter yet—both inputs must be ready for consistent crafting.

Step 6: Craft four blue gear pieces in Gear Assembly
Once you have enough Ferrium Components and Decryption Crystals, craft the blue gear pieces directly through Gear Assembly (crafted via the AIC crafting flow).

You’re done as soon as you’ve produced any four blue gear pieces (armor/gloves/kit pieces depend on what recipes you’ve unlocked and what your Operators need).

Step 7: Equip the gear on your Operators
Gear is equipped on Operators and provides attribute bonuses; Endfield gear is structured as four pieces total (Armor, Gloves, and two Kit Pieces).

If you’re chasing set bonuses later, remember that set bonuses typically trigger at three pieces, but for this objective you only need four crafted blue pieces assembled and equipped as required.
Rewards
For completing this Node challenge, you get:
- Cast Die – x6
- Operational EXP – x180
Once you treat blue gear as a production problem—Ferrium Ore access, proper mining rigs, a Ferrium Component conversion line, and enough Decryption Crystals—you can reliably craft four blue pieces whenever you need them.
