The new Where Winds Meet version 1.2 update brings two new items – Wind Seeker: Qinghe and Wind Seeker: Kaifeng to aid navigation through their dense collectibles and quests. With them, you can track oddities—fairy-like icons on the minimap—via collectors to unlock this skill, streamlining your hunt for chests and anecdotes. Here’s how they work:
What is Wind Seeker
Wind Seeker: Qinghe and Wind Seeker: Kaifeng are part of the quick-use Tab (under Special Item). The item cards read: Marks nearby chests, oddities, and cat encounters… If the map is cluttered, it only shows the closest ones.
However, they require a lot of exploration points to unlock.
- Wind Seeker: Qinghe – 13000 exploration points
- Wind Seeker: Kaifeng – 18000 exploration points
Hunt oddities (crickets in crates, mantises on logs, bee hives via fire arrows) and deliver to collectors near Qinghe hubs or Kaifeng docks. Max your exploration skills first—pet cats for Elegance, chase butterflies—for vendor access.
How to unlock the Wind Seeker
Step 1
Explore Qinghe fully: Clear 90%+ via Wandering Tales, chests; unlock Treasure Seeker first by cat-petting quests.
Step 2
Gather 10+ oddities per type—scan minimap, use Meteor Flight for efficiency.
Step 3
Visit Qinghe collector (near starting zone), trade for Melodies upgrades until Wind Seeker appears.
Step 4
Repeat in Kaifeng post-Level 32/Chapter 1; check vendors if exploration hits thresholds like 19k+/9k.
With Wind Seeker active, you’ll breeze through Qinghe and Kaifeng’s hidden gems, pushing completion higher as patches unlock story gates. Farm oddities daily for sustained progress.
