In Where Winds Meet, ‘Fate’s Farewell’ is an Encounter side quest. It involves going to the Path of Karma region in Sundara Land while it’s foggy, and fulfilling a boy’s final wish before he can move on. Here’s everything you need to know about the quest.
Location and How to Start
Fate’s Farewell takes place in the Sundara Land area of the Qinghe region. To start, go to the Path of Karma waypoint on a foggy day.
If it’s not foggy, bring up the photo mode.
Select Pro.
Then select Heavy Fog.
Now the area will have fog and the encounter will be triggered.
Walkthrough
Step 1
Make your way to Path of Karma teleport point. If it’s a foggy day, the encounter will be triggered.
Step 2
Climb the steps and interact with Nie the Scholar.
Step 3
Follow the boy. Once he disappears, talk to the two men before you.
Step 4
After the conversation, change time to Shen hour.
Step 5
Return to the steps. You’ll find Nie the Scholar there again. Once he’s done crying, talk to him again.
He will give you a keepsake – a pendant – and ask you for your help in delivering it to his old love. The location for that is given below:
Step 6
Teleport to the nearest waypoint – Wraith Village.
Step 7
From your spawn point, go straight. You will come across a girl who will look to the right as you approach her.
Follow the direction of her gaze (right) and enter the building. Inside you will find the Scholar’s old love.
Step 8
Give the pendant to the girl.
Step 9
The young girl will disappear, leaving behind a handkerchief. Pick it up.
Step 10
Return to the Path of Karma waypoint (the fog area) and find the boy.
After talking to him, the boy will disappear too. But before disappearing, he will give you the location of his home.
Step 11
Go to the two men and ask about the boy’s whereabouts.
Defeat the two men as they block your way and get the handkerchief back.
Step 12
Go to the boy’s location and deliver the handkerchief.
Place the handkerchief.
