Asus ZenFone 5 is an affordable iPhone X with a 26% smaller notch

ZenFone 5

At the MWC 2018 event, Asus has taken the wraps off the ZenFone 5 alongside ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 Lite. Its specs include an iPhone X-like 6.2-inch IPS LCD display screen with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels, a Snapdragon 636 chipset, 4/6GB RAM, 64GB storage, AI-based dual 12MP camera on the back, 8MP selfie lens, a 3300mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo with ZenUI 5.0. The ZenFone 5 also comes with things like USB-C port, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm audio jack and NFC, among others.

It’s pretty good specs-wise, and although price details are still unknown, you can expect a very competitive tag. For those who are close to the Taiwanese company, you’ll know that this isn’t the first time a ZenFone 5 phone is being unveiled by Asus. This is an homage to the 2014 model that brought the company to the limelight, but this one conforms to the latest “standards” aka notch.

According to Asus, the ZenFone 5 notch is 26% smaller than the iPhone X, but this is for obvious reasons. There are up to eight functions on the iPhone X notch compared to the ZenFone 5’s three.
