Google just updated its maps service to expand the coverage of 3D buildings view to 18 new cities: London, Paris, Barcelona, Stockholm, Singapore, Lisbon, Boulder and 11 South African cities. It actually feels good to hear that 3D view is on its rise and that Google is keenly updating the maps service to add more cities on a regular basis. Let’s hope all the major hubs of our world get the 3D View love soon, maybe by the end of this year — after all, 3D view is extremely useful and precise tech which helps a plenty when you’re travelling.
It’s awesome that London has been updated to 3D views on from Maps app because I think it’ll help a lot to those who are planning to watch the Olympics 2012 live. Too many people would seek help from the maps app on the smartphone and the 3D view would be a blessing to them.
That said, it’s not an update to your market app and in case you missed it, since maps are loaded as you asked for them, the new added city will show up when in 3D automatically when you load them on your maps app — there is no need to update the maps app (anyway, the update isn’t available in the android market even if you don’t believe us!).
