Zheng E mechanics

Phase 1

The encounter begins as a high-pressure ground duel where parry timing dictates survival against Zheng E's aggressive charges and counters. His standard combos and ice projectiles (usually 5 in a row) can mostly be parried to drain Qi safely, but watch for the unparryable Double Wave that requires a sideways dodge. Fan strikes spawn delayed ice thorns, so flank or sidestep after his swings rather than staying in front; use Meridian Touch on red-glow windups to interrupt, knock him down, and punish heavily.

Phase 2

When his first health bar depletes, Zheng E summons an ice pillar, perches atop it, and unleashes three sweeping ice waves, restoring some health in the process. Dodge the first two unblockable waves sideways, then precisely parry the red-glow third wave to shatter the pillar and force him back to ground level. He mixes golden-glow unblockables (sprint away) with oversized ice swings during transitions, maintaining pressure until Qi breaks allow executes.

Tips

  • Prioritize single-hit punishes over combos—Zheng E parries aggression back aggressively.
  • Track camera tightly during Phase 2 pillar phase to anticipate wave directions early.
  • Unlock Meridian Touch before the fight—it's mandatory for safely interrupting Zheng E's red-glow fan attacks that punish parries.
  • Golden glow always means unblockable super; sprint to arena edges immediately, no exceptions.
