You know about Asus Support app, don’t you. Well, this is the app you can fire up on your Asus device to get help directly from the company’s dedicated support team regarding anything on your Zenfones and Padfones. Well, a Zenfone 2 user, Indrajeet, was able to garner some vital information as regards Zenfone 2 Android 5.1 update for us. The support guy confirmed to him that Asus is currently working on the Zenfone 2 5.1 update, and that it’s under final testing stage right now. See the screenshot below as proof.
That’s good news for all Zenfone 2 users — there are many variants of this device, eh! — even though the said 5.1 update was strictly confirmed for the cheapest of the lot, Z550EL, one that sports HD display.
If you are a Zenfone 2 user, your wait for the official 5.1 update could be over real soon. And it should be, after all, Asus is a reputed company with lots of followers, and is a big brand, even if it lacks flagships that could challenge the best of Samsung and HTC. Anyway, Asus has a solid presence in mid-range smartphone segment, and when the likes of Samsung and LG have rolled out Android 5.1 updates already, there is no reason why Asus would lag behind in updating its flagship of the year device, Zenfone 2.
By the way, Android 5.1.1 update has already rolled out on many, many devices, and that includes T-Mobile Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S5, International Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, US Cellular S6 and S6 Edge, HTC One M9 developer edition, Sprint One M9, Galaxy S6 and G Flex 2, Motorola X 2013 and 2014, Droid Turbo, etc.
