Asus has earlier confirmed about the Marshmallow update for Zenfone 2 on its ZenTalk app, and now the company’s official employee with account name of ZenTalk on Asus support forums has confirmed the same.

Sadly, it’s not much company talked about. There is no mention of release date. That’s so disappointing. The Marshmallow update is already 1.5 months old, and while it has already landed on LG G4 and Motorola Moto X2 and X3 Style, apart from Nexus and Android One devices, most of the OEMs have provided a tentative date already.

Gladly, though, Asus did confirm the Marshmallow update is in plans for PadFone S too, and Zenfone Selfie, along with the most obvious Asus device in Zenfone 2.

That there was no mention of Zenfone 5 is disappointing but given the massive howler Lollipop update was for the device, it’s hardly anything worth ruing about.

Asus is having bad time with updates, which are coming not only late but are also ending up screwing up fine working devices.

If you were left wondering exactly which Zenfone 2 variants are in for updates — because there are many — the company did mention the models exclusively.

  • PadFone S (PF500KL)
  • ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML/ZE551ML)
  • ZenFone 2 Deluxe / Special Edition (ZE551ML)
  • ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG/ZE500KL/ZE550KL/ZE600KL/ZE601KL)
  • ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)

Given the recent fiasco of Asus’ Lollipop update, what do you think about how Asus will do with Marshmallow update?

That the company still doesn’t have a tentative date to throw for its Android 6.0 update disappoint you (it should, BTW)?
