What to know
- Instagram is working on a feature that could let you continuously share your music with others.
- The feature looks to integrate your current Spotify music into Notes.
- Instagram has not officially confirmed the release of this feature yet.
Ever wished you could let the world know what music you’re listening to? Well, Instagram users could soon get the ability to share their Spotify music on their profile, and do it continuously.
Meta is looking to more deeply integrate Spotify into Instagram’s Notes. The feature was first discovered by tech sleuth Alessandro Paluzzi.
The screenshot shows a new ‘Share from Spotify’ feature that is described as such: “Continuously share what you’re listening to. You can stop sharing at any time.”
For music buffs, this would not only provide a way to share their music with their followers but also allow them to discover new music. Although this leak doesn’t mean that the feature is guaranteed to become a reality one day, it still provides a lot of fodder to be excited about.
When enabled, Spotify would constantly provide information about the songs you’re playing to Instagram so even if you’re on another app, your followers will stay updated about your listening habits.
Our choice of music also says a lot about us, which is why we expect this feature to become an overnight success upon launch.
