Indian Android fanboys are gonna love this. The much awaited Xperia Arc has got a rumored release date for India and there’s a semi-official price too. We just came to know that Xperia Arc has found its way to pre-order catalogs at the flipkart.com, an online shopping website that ships to addresses confined to India only.

The Arc’s estimated shipping date from filpkart.com is 2nd week of April, which can be safely taken as the release date Sony Ericsson would officially choose, too. The device is listed with a price tag of INR 28,999 — which is cool and fully worth for what would India’s first Android 2.3 pre-installed handset.

Flipkart has listed only the black color of the Arc, but we fully expect the white color to be available too at the launch. Oh, that Pink color, that remains anyone’s guess.

Arc is a follower to Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10, and is super thin at just 8.7 mm with a design that is just awesome. In fact, Killer! we won’t hesitate to say that. It boasts of a 4.2 inch screen and is powered by a Qualcomm’s 1 GHz processor. Although the processor fades a little bit when compared to other dual core phones launching here and there, but it’s no slouch and is nearly perfect for everything you would do with Arc, except some very high graphic oriented games like Dungeon Defenders.

Those who want a heavy graphics oriented phone in India should wait for Samsung Galaxy S2 — a dual-core powered phone which will not be far from Arc’s release date. Expect the S2 to arrive in May/June, but it could be earlier too. Who knows what Samsung us at the CTIA event on March 22 — you know which device we’ve our eye set on.

Other specs of Arc include an 8 MP camera with Auto focus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, Image stabilization and 720p HD recording. SE has also imported the Bravia Engine tech into this device which makes the display all the more vibrant. Plus the screen resolution stands out at 454 x 800. So, all in all Arc is THE phone to watch out, in every part of the world where it would hit.

So, 2nd week of April happens to be just next month, so are you ready to buy — as it seems for now — the hottest smart phone for the year 2011?
