We already knew that April was going to be pretty busy for Xiaomi, what with two major events planned in the month — on the 15th and the 23rd of April — and it looks like one of the events is on us.

While the event on the 23rd may see the Xiaomi Mi4i hitting the carpet, the event closer home may witness the launch of a brand new device — the Xiaomi H3Y. Rumors — courtsey upleaks — have already told us that the device will be coming with a MediaTek MT6795 chipset along with a MIUI 6 coated Android 5.0.

We also know of a 1080p display and a 13/5 MP rear/front camera combination which involve contributions from Samsung (Rear Camera, S5K3M2) and OmniVision (Front Camera, OV5670)

All in all the device looks like a boosted version of the Xiaomi Note 2, which however is not something anyone will hold against it. Expected to hit the markets with a price tag of CNY 1,500 ($245/€194), the device is bound to create some major waves.
