Earlier this month, Xiaomi started rolling out an update to the Mi A2 that installed a new Android security patch for the month of September 2018. However, not everyone got the OTA download notification apparently because the update was halted after issues were discovered.

Well, as of this writing, it appears that Xiaomi has resumed the rollout as a good number of Mi A2 users are reporting that a new update is rolling out to the handset with September security patches. In the changelog, there isn’t much that has been captured other than the details on the security patch level, but we believe there are also plenty of bug fixes and other performance-enhancing tweaks under the hood.

The update size varies for various users, possibly depending on whether you had received the initial September patch or if you are coming from August 2018 patch, but expect anything in the regions of 300MB or more.

It’s an OTA update, meaning it may take some days before all Xiaomi Mi A2 units get the download notification, so be patient.
