The latest update to arrive carries a new Android security patch for the month of October 2018. What is strange about this update is the file size, which weighs over 1GB. Well, it appears the wait for Pie will still go on for a while as the latest update, despite the size, is still based on Android Oreo. Perhaps it is the plenty of bug fixes and performance improvements and maybe new, unmentioned features that make the update this big, so feel free to let us know what changes you notice once you install the new software. The update should also fix lag and mobile network issues that some Mi A1 users have been experiencing.
It’s an OTA update, meaning it’ll take some time before every Xiaomi Mi A1 unit receives the download notification, so be patient. Otherwise, you can try forcing the update via the Software update option in the Settings menu.
