Xiaomi, as most of you may already know, is currently prepping to launch the Redmi Note 5 in China. But, that may not be the only Redmi Note phone you will be seeing this year.
Word has it that the company will also be launching the Redmi Note 5A — a watered down version of the Redmi Note 5. Corroborating these rumors, a new leak has surfaced online today revealing the design as well as specsheet of the device.
The Redmi Note 5A will apparently come with a Snapdragon 425 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 630/660 SoC either of which is expected to power the original Redmi Note 5.

The Android 7.1 Nougat (MIUI) laden device will feature a 5.5-inch display same as the Redmi Note 5 but at HD resolution. The leak hints at the inclusion of 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
As for the optics, the handset will get a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP shooter on the front for selfies.
Apart from these, the Redmi Note 5A will majorly differ from the Redmi Note 5 in terms of battery capacity. The former will reportedly feature a relatively smaller 3,080mAh battery in comparison to the 3,790mAh one on the latter.
The smartphone is expected to carry a price tag of CNY 1,000 (Rs. 9,652) and is believed to launch alongside the Redmi Note 5.
