New details have been revealed for the Xiaomi Pinecone V670 and the V970 processors. There have been reports that Xiaomi would be using its own Pinecone processors on their new devices.

Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone, the Mi 5C, which is supposed to be unveiled at MWC this month, is rumored to feature an octa-core Pinecone processor. And we now have some details on two Pinecone processors from the company.

The first one, V670, is an octa-core chipset with four high clocked A53 cores and 4 lower clocked A53 cores. This chipset comes with the Mali T860 MP4 GPU that’s clocked at 800MHz and is manufactured using a 28nm process.

The second chipset, is the V970, which seems to be a high end processor that would probably take on competitors. This chipset also includes 8 cores, 4 A73 cores clocked at 2.7GHz and 4 A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The GPU on this chipset is the Mali G71 MP12, which is clocked at 900MHz. However, this processor would not be out till the fourth quarter of this year.

Therefore, it seems like that upcoming Mi 5C would include the Pinecone V670 processor. There could be two different variants of the smartphone, one with a Snapdragon processor, and another with the in-house Pinecone chipsets. We will have to wait to find out how the Pinecone processors perform in the real world.
