Chinese OEM, Xiaomi, is set to release another variant if its flagship going by the moniker of Mi 5c. The alleged Mi 5c has been spotted at TENAA with model number MAE136 along with another device going by model number MBE6A5. This could possibly equate to two variants of the device.
So what’s the big deal with this smartphone? If the rumors are to be believed from a previous 3C listing, we could be seeing one of the variants featuring Xiaomi’s own octa-core Pinecone chipset for the Mi5c, presumably on model no. MAE136, while the other variant could feature Snapdragon 625 processor — the most trusted chipset for mid-range devices. Though it’s too early to confirm any of this, you would best be off taking this with a grain of salt.
If Xiaomi could fine tune its software and hardware to work flawlessly in sync, they might end up producing a wonderful device with.

That being said, the company is notorious for producing countless variants of a smartphone many of which remain in the dark without a much needed update. Though we can expect the flagships to forego this treatment of course. We’ll get to know more on the device which is expected to be revealed on February 26th at Barcelona.
