In the already solid drama of whether it’s Mi4S or Mi5 that will be the moniker of new Xiaomi flagship, add one more name, Mi5 Plus. As today, a pic of new Xiaomi device by the name of Mi5 Plus slipped unofficially on the Internet. And this leaves us guessing about launch of two devices instead of one, the Mi5 and Mi5 Plus. And if you think about it, this perfectly lines up with the official teaser from Xiaomi (see the pic below) which says that fill-in-the-blank is better than one, and we know the answer: Two.

So, it could be Mi5 and Mi5 Plus, that are the two devices we’ve been looking at in benchmark and otherwise the recent few weeks.

Moreover, the price of Xioami Mi5 is also being rumored, to be 2,999 yuans, which is $480 approx. That’s not bad for a device which we think will sport a 5.7″ Quad HD display (maybe 2.5D), 3GB of RAM, Snapdragon 805/810 processor and 13MP and 5MP camera at rear and front, among other things.

The company is holding an event tomorrow, on January 15, where it will unveil the two new flagship devices. We think it would be Mi5 and Mi5 Plus. The leaks we saw about Mi4S maybe belong to Mi5 actually; the Mi4S must have been tentative name or for internal purposes. Though, there is still some chance that we could see the launch of much-awaited Redmi Note 2, in which case, either of Mi4S, Mi5 or Mi5 Plus will be second device. Yup, in this scenario, Note 2 and Mi5 Plus don’t make sense, hence we’re thinking of two Mi devices: Mi5 and Mi5 Plus. Like iPhone 6 sets? Yes. After all, Xiaomi is China’s Apple, no?
