A new smartphone carrying the model number MDE40 just cleared the National Communications Commission (NCC). Looking at the sketch NCC listing provides, and the leaked images of Mi Max we’ve seen earlier, it’s easy to figure out that this is none other than the Mi max 2. The Chinese OEM is all set to release the upcoming phablet on May 25.
The original Mi Max was known for its monster battery and huge screen size. Though we have limited information on the Mi Max 2, we expect it to also follow with similar specifications. From the rumors floating about, the display size look set at 6.4-inch with a res of 1080p.
Previous leaks also suggest that the device will come in two variants. The Pro variant could most probably be powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB of RAM and the standard variant may get the Snapdragon 630 chipset with 4GB of RAM. As for storage options, the Pro version comes with 128GB internal storage.

There’s hardly a week left till the official launch and thankfully this time, Xiaomi has decided to ship the device with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Unfortunately we won’t be able to see MIUI 9 coming with the smartphone as Xiaomi has confirmed the same. The camera on the device is also pretty good. Check out some of the leaked sample images and let us know what you think.
