So good was the market performance of the Xiaomi Mi A1 that the company couldn’t wait for a full year before coming in with a successor, the Xiaomi Mi A2. Just like the Xiaomi Mi A1 was based on the Mi 5X, the newly launched Xiaomi Mi A2 is based on the Mi 6X that launched in China a while back. In addition to the two storage options from last year, the Mi A2 gets a third storage option of 128GB that is also mated with a massive 6GB RAM. The camera has also received a bump, with the secondary sensor jumping from 12MP to 20MP with a wider aperture of f/1.75, the same as the main sensor. The selfie camera has also been bumped from 5MP to a whopping 20MP.

As for the Mi A2 Lite, it is based on the Redmi 6 Pro that launched in China not so long ago. This might interest those who want a smaller device that still packs some punch but is a little cheaper than the standard Mi A2. With internal specs that just about match the Mi A1, the Mi A2 Lite takes the battery game to the next level with a massive 4000mAh unit.
Even better is that the Mi A2 Lite still gives you the option to expand the 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, a luxury you won’t get on the Mi A2. Both phones have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, but it’s only the standard Mi A2 that has a USB-C port and the latest Bluetooth 5.0. Don’t be too quick to celebrate, though, as the former comes at the expense of the 3.5mm audio jack.

Although the Mi A2 Lite comes with a microUSB port, you still get to enjoy using your old headphones on the device. The two devices also support fast battery charging technology.
As for the prices, the 4/32GB variant of the Mi A2 costs €249 while the 4/64GB variant can be yours for €279. To get your hands on the high-end 6/128GB variant, you’ll need €349. On the other hand, the Mi A2 Lite has a price of €179 for the 3/32GB variant and €229 for the 4/64GB variant. The phones will be sold in up to 40 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas, but prices will vary.
