A recent report regarding the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship smartphone suggests that the device will be announced in November. It also hints that the device will be featuring an in-built fingerprint scanner apart from revealed its alleged specifications.
As per the report, the Mi 5 is codenamed Libra and it will feature the fingerprint scanner technology. The details related to how this fingerprint scanner will function have not been revealed. This has already been leaked as Xiaomi filed a patent and elaborated on the fingerprint recognition method using the buttons on the device.
When it comes to the specifications, the report suggests that the Xiaomi Mi 5 aka Libra will feature a 5.3 inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels that will render a pixel density of 554 pixels per inch. It is tipped to employ a Snapdragon 820 chipset that remains unannounced by Qualcomm and 4 GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is said to be launched in two variants – 16 GB and 64 GB of native storage capacities that can be expanded further using a micro SD card. The imaging hardware is said to include a 16 MP main snapper and a 6 MP front facing selfie shooter as well. The other aspects of the device comprise of a 3,030 mAh battery and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with MIUI.
