Xiaomi has launched the world’s first smartphones with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro in China.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro features a 6.73-inch 2K OLED display, triple 50MP cameras with Leica optics, and a massive 6,100mAh battery with 90W charging.
Global release confirmed by CEO Lei Jun for late 2024 or early 2025, with the Xiaomi 15 starting at CNY 4,499 (~$630) and Pro at CNY 5,299 (~$742).

Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, making them the world’s first devices to feature Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The launch event took place in China on October 29th.

The standard Xiaomi 15 comes with a 6.36-inch 1.5K OLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,200 nits peak brightness. It packs a 5,400mAh battery and supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. The device offers extensive customization with 40 different design combinations through various back panel and frame options.

The more premium Xiaomi 15 Pro steps things up with a larger 6.73-inch 2K micro-curved OLED display and an even bigger 6,100mAh battery. Both devices feature Leica-tuned triple 50MP camera systems, though the Pro model gains a more capable periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom compared to the standard model’s 3x zoom.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed the global release of the Xiaomi 15 series, stating on X (formerly Twitter) that the devices represent their “next frontier” in innovation and design. While specific launch dates weren’t provided, industry experts expect the global rollout to begin in late 2024 or early 2025.
