Xiaomi, the fast growing Chinese smartphone maker announced at its first press event in the United States on Thursday that it will be entering the US market in the next few months. However, the company will not be offering smartphones, tablets or Smart TVs — well, not anytime soon at-least. But, Xiaomi will start selling fitness bands, headphones and other accessories in the coming months in US.

Xiaomi is a five year old startup which was valued at $45 billion last December. Yet, is has been quickly expanding its universal network through direct online sales. To avoid high duties imposed on imported goods, Xiaomi is looking for a partner in Brazil. The company has taken has taken a small step to enter the competitive US market and will launch an e-commerce website called Mi.com in the country shortly.

There is no detail on the exact date as to when the consumers can expect to start buying the products from Xiaomi. It is worth noting that Xiaomi is a China based company which offers aggressively priced smartphones, smartphone accessories, Smart TVs, set-top boxes, etc.

Xiaomi used to operate only in Asia. But now, we can see that it will be expanding to the West shortly with its reasonably priced and good quality products.
