Just yesterday, we posted that Xiaomi might have accidentally acknowledged its upcoming phablet, Mi Max 2 and we were right. Today, Xiaomi confirmed Mi Max 2 is coming and will launch on May 25th. The official page for Mi Max 2 is also live on Xiaomi’s website.

Although nothing has been mentioned about the specs of the upcoming device or how many variants will it have, it seems Mi Max 2 will feature an upgraded battery of 5000 mAh from its past model Mi Max which had 4850 mAh battery.

That said, there have been leaks that Mi Max 2 will come in two variants of Standard and Pro. The standard version will sport 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 625 processor while the pro version of Mi Max 2 will have 6 GB RAM coupled with latest Snapdragon 660 chipset. Both the devices will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat with MIUI on top of it.

About the display, another leak suggests that Xiaomi might bring down the screen size from 6.44 inch present on Mi Max to 6.0 inch on Mi Max 2. Further, it is expected to feature a 12MP rear camera with auto-focus and flash and a 5MP selfie snapper, as per GFXBench listing. And, if you are curious about the camera quality, this might be a camera sample from Mi Max 2.
