The wait for Xiaomi fans is soon going to be over as the Chinese OEM has officially announced the release date of its 2017 flagship Mi 6. Xiaomi, on its MIUI forum has uploaded a teaser image of the Mi 6 mentioning the date April 19th and place Beijing. This suggests that Mi 6 will be launched on the mentioned date at Beijing. Although, this Mi 6 release date was known owing to a recent leak, the official announcement puts it on a solid ground.

Further, Xiaomi has also given additional information about the launch event for Mi 6 stating that the flagship smartphone is coming with ‘Dual Camera Setup, Upgraded Curved Screen, and 6GB of RAM’. The live event will be held in Beijing University Of Technology Gymnasium.

Mi 6 will be unveiled with Mi 6 Plus and will be priced at CNY 2,199 and CNY 2,699 respectively. Other than being a beautifully crafted and powerful device, Mi 6 promises to deliver solid hardware with Snapdragon 835 SoC. While Mi 6, also known as Mi Youth, will pack in 4GB RAM/64GB ROM, the Mi 6 Plus or standard or ceramic edition will boast 6GB RAM/ 64GB ROM.

Both will run Android Nougat. Mi 6 will sport a 5.2-inch flat Full HD display (1920×1080 pixels) while Mi 6 Plus will feature 5.5-inch curved WQHD display (2560×1440 pixels). The Plus version would feature a dual camera setup of 12MP+12MP resolution at the back while an 8MP will be placed up front for selfies. In Mi 6, we will get to see a 19MP Sony sensor on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera. A 3200mAh and 4500mAh battery will keep the lights on respectively in Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus.
