Xiaomi, the Apple of East could soon launch the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to its Mi 5s, as we just spotted the handset paying a visit to the GFXBench. This also means that the company is currently testing the update to ensure a smooth roll out.
We have already reported that Xiaomi is working on bringing the Nougat 7.0 update to a bunch of its handsets including the Mi5s. Now, it seems like the company will likely roll out the Nougat 7.1.1 directly instead of the Nougat 7.0.
Xiaomi has recently rolled out the Nougat 7.0 based MIUI 8.2 to its Mi5 users in China. It finally seems like Xiaomi is picking up the pace on rolling out the Nougat updates to its handsets.

Unlike other Chinese operators including Vivo and Oppo, Xiaomi has always been the one to roll out MIUI (its custom OS based on Android) updates frequently.
Sadly, though, we can’t say the same when it comes to latest Android updates. That, however, seems to change soon. We say this as the company was spotted testing the Nougat build to one of its most successful smartphones, the Note 3 a couple of months ago.
We hope the company keeps it that way and let its devices taste the sweetness of Nougat as soon as possible.
