The first wave of October games for the Game Pass has been revealed, and while you may have had plans for Halloween, the new games will certainly add to your backlog of games!
Wave 1 of the October 2025 lineup features thirteen titles, complete with three Day One launches to sweeten the recently-hiked Ultimate pot.
Day One Releases and The Heavy Hitters
Game Pass is starting off strongly with Ninja Gaiden 4 which is arriving on October 21st (available on Ultimate/PC Game Pass). Ninja Gaiden 4 is the highly awaited new entry to the definitive hack-and-slash franchise. Co-developed by Team Ninja and PlatinumGames, this game promises a nice and spicey blend of legacy and innovation. This game isn't about subtle stealth and is more high-speed, no-holds-barred combat which is exactly what you want in a modern ninja epic.

But the Day One goodness can't possibly stop there. October 17th will bring you the Keeper (available on Ultimate/PC Game Pass). It is an awe-inspiring adventure from Double Fine Productions, about a forgotten lighthouse and a spirited seabird. It's a warm and charming artistic title that might become your unexpected favorite, similar to Alto's Adventures on App Store and Play Store.

And two days before that, on October 15th, brick-breaking roguelite Ball x Pit (available on Ultimate/PC Game Pass) smashes its way onto the service.

If you’re a fan of classic RPGs, or simply need more lore after Baldur’s Gate 3, the Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions (available on Ultimate/Premium/PC Game Pass) roll their way onto the PC platform on October 9th. It contains over 100 hours of action and adventure, just in case you had any other plans for the month.

For the Spooky Season
October is spooky season, and the Xbox lineup delivers. Supermassive Games’ narrative horror title, The Casting of Frank Stone which is available on Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass, a spin-off set in the Dead by Daylight universe, arrives on October 14th to give fans of Until Dawn a good scare.

But for every chilling terror, there's delightful absurdity. Available now (October 8th) is Supermarket Simulator (Ultimate/Premium/PC Game Pass), where you can finally live out your dream of managing stock, setting prices, and possibly even wrestling a shoplifter or two.

And, in a move that feels wildly premature but delightfully chaotic, The Grinch: Christmas Adventures (available on Ultimate/Premium/PC Game Pass) is dropping on October 15th, offering a festive platformer starring the mean one himself. It’s never too early for holiday cheer, apparently.

Other notable additions include the vampire-slaying return of Evil West (available for All Tiers) on October 21st, and the social sandbox MMO Pax Dei (available for All Tiers) hitting PC on October 16th.

The Price of Premium (and What’s Leaving)
For those keeping track of the recently re-shuffled tiers, October 15th is a big day for Game Pass Premium subscribers, as they gain access to a trio of titles: Eternal Strands, He Is Coming (Game Preview), and the returning classic Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.

Of course, the Game Pass cycle means we must say goodbye to a few gems. Puzzle fans, be sure to play the phenomenal Cocoon before it, along with Core Keeper and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutants Unleashed, departs on October 15th.
Whether you're into intense ninja action, deep fantasy RPGs, or simply want to know what it feels like to run a virtual grocery store, October's first wave ensures that even with the new subscription costs, there’s plenty to keep that expensive new hard drive spinning.
