How to complete the Winding River Fox Den

Here are the steps to follow to complete the Winding River fox den in Ghost of Yotei:

Step 1 – Reach the site

Travel along the riverside path north of Teshio Ridge, then approach the cluster of red-leafed trees marking the fox den. Interact with or approach the fox to begin the event.

Step 2 – Follow the fox up the ridge

The fox darts eastward, leaping up a dirt ridge just above the riverbank. The fox crosses a narrow tributary, jumping between stepping stones. Maintain close proximity or you’ll reset progress.

Step 3 - Remove the barrier

Remove the stone barrier to free the fox behind it.

Step 4 – Ascend to the shrine

At the end of the riverbank trail, ascend the inclined slope up the hillside. The Inari Shrine sits beneath a canopy of sakura trees. Bow to consecrate it and receive your reward.
