Step 1: Reach Mistveil Forest

The Ephmeral Blight quest begins in Mistveil Forest of the Kaifeng region. Make your way through the terrains and reach the quest pointer.

Step 2: Make way through dense mist

On your way to the Mistveil Forest, you will come across an area with dense mist. You will fall on the ground, and it triggers a cutscene between Zhai Xu, who saves you.

Step 3: Zhai Xu explains Mistveil's secrets

In the cutscene, you will talk to Zhai Xu about the Mistveil Forest's secrets and why it was abandoned.

At his home, you will also get the Broken Jade Stone pendant.

Step 4: Search for clues

In his home, look out for these clues: Thousand Wish Amendment and Mistveil Forest Cure: Wishing Cove. Both of the clues are kept near the window desk, if interrupted by Zhai Xu, distract him by asking question.

Step 5: Bid farewell to Zhai Xu

After getting both clues, bid farewell to Zhai Xu.

Step 6: Leave Wishing Cove

Leave Zhai Xu's house temporarily to learn about Mistveil's secrets.

Step 7: Reach the Amendment

After leaving Zhai Xu's house, read the Thousand Wish Amendment to find out about the three cures.

Step 8: Finding 3 cures

You need to gather 3 cures for the Mistveil. Here is how you can get each of them:

First clue - Wishing clove (Zhai Xu's house)

It is in Zhai Xu's house, the Wishing Cove. Since we already got the 2 clues from the house, it is a possibility you might have already got "Wishing Cove" completed, so the clues might reflect "1/3" immediately after reading the Amendment.

Second clue - Hollow Abode (Mystic Skill - Veil of Stillness required)

• When you track the next quest location, you enter an underground area in which your Veil of Stillness gets triggered automatically.
• Enter the house and assassinate the disciples without getting caught to acquire the second clue.
• If you get caught, you can start again from the beginning and get the second clue for Empheral Blight.
• Leave the area immediately after your stage progress is saved.

Third clue - Aureate Pavilion

Here you will face 9 enemies, eliminate all of them and get the Cure from inside the outpost building.

Step 9: Fight the outpost leader Xie Xiuyu Gansui

After fighting the 9 enemies, Gansui appears in the frontyard of the outpost, eliminate him using Stormbreaker Spear and Nameless Sword.

Step 10: Return to Wishing Cove (Zhai Xu)

Return to Zhai Xu and submit him the three clues.

Step 11: Skip 2 days

Skip two days from the time menu.

Step 12: Find the antidote in Wishing Cove

Your next objective is to meet Zhai Xu, but in his house, find the antidote note to progress in the Mistveil saga.

Step 13: Find Zhai Xu in Northern Wasteland

Travel to the North end of the Mistveil Forest and Meet Zhai Xu

Step 14: Find the Aureate disciples

As you venture into the forest, you will overhear the conversation from the Aureate disciples. Defeat all the guards at the main entrance to progress forward.

Step 15: Destroy the dawn-to-dusk blooms

As you enter the quest area, you will find a tunnel covered with Vines and Blue Blooming flowers. Destroy the dawn-to-dusk blooms and vines using Fire Arrows and enter through.

Step 16: Investigate the area

Investigate the area for these 4 areas:

• Coffin on the left hand side of the entry.
• Dead vines under tree
• Aureate crest under tree
• Damanged bug cage right side of the tree

Step 17: Destroy dawn-to-dusk Bloom Flowers

Destroy the hanging blue bloom flowers on the tree. This will release the sleeping puppets.

Step 18: Defeat the Sleeping puppets

Defeat all of the sleeping puppets. These are easy to tackle hostiles; use spears to knock them out quickly.

Step 19: Follow the shadowy figure

The shadowy figure shows you a way to the lower ground. Follow it through the three appearances to find way to the Hidden Lair.

Step 20: Enter Hidden Lair

Walk through the enemies by slashing them with sword, and enter the Hidden Lair. Destroy the dawn to dusk blooms on the vines inside the Lair. Defeat the sleepless puppets as you progress forward.

Step 21: Find Sun Buqi's notes

Inside the shed of Hidden Lair, find Sun Buqi's notes on the left hand side table.

You can also find the Old Jade pendant.

Step 22: Deduce the intel from Clues

Deduce the correct phrases for the sequence you observed in the Hidden Lair.

Step 23: Return pendant

Return the Jade pendant to the sleeping puppet, which triggers him to wake up.

Step 24: Destroy the blooms

Destroy all dusk to dawn blooms using fire arrow in the lower area of the Hidden Lair.

Step 25: Return to Zhai Xu

Return to Wishing Cove and submit the notes to Zhai Xu to complete the quest.
