Echoes in the Shrine is a side-story in Where Winds Meet, available in the Lost Touch section of the menu. Players have to locate the General’s Shrine, where a secret passage runs beneath the West Wall. 

They then have to search for the entrance of this underground route. The quest is to check the suspicious floor. In this guide, we will complete the Echoes in the Shrine quest with a step-by-step walkthrough.

Echoes in the Shrine side-story is located near the General’s shrine in Qinghe. 

Walkthrough

The steps required to complete this quest are listed below. 

Step 1

Locate the General’s Shrine on the map and teleport to it. Grateful Qinghe residents built this shrine for the general from the Well of Heaven who defeated Northern invaders and defended the borders.

Step 2

Head towards the General’s Shrine and explore it. You will find the suspicious floor near a child named Rock and his dog, Fantuan.

Break down the suspicious floor by jumping on it, and enter the underground route.

Step 4

Head towards the right. On the way, you will find a boundary stone. Interact with it to complete Beneath the General’s Shrine quest. Tiger For Bandit will inform you about an underground Shrine built by Wan Qing for Lie Yan.

Heading towards the right, you will encounter a chest. Collect the fire arrows.

Step 6

Hold the left mouse button to charge, then release to shoot fire arrows and burn vines. Enter the newly opened passage and take the first left turn.

Use the fire arrow to light up the lamp.

Moving forward, you will encounter an enemy. Use your sword to defeat him.

On the right, you will find a chamber. Use fire arrows to detonate the explosive barrels, doing massive damage to enemies. Collect the new weapon, dual blades.

Step 10

Move backwards towards Hero’s Tomb. Use it to heal from the heavy damage.

In front of the Hero’s Tomb. You will find a Vines Pathway. Burn Vines on the wooden planks using a fire arrow and collapse the structure.

Move forward towards the explosive barrel pathway. Carry it towards the target wall and detonate to clear the rubble.

Step 13

You will encounter a new set of enemies. Blow up the explosive at the entrance to defeat them. Take down the remaining ones using the sword.

Push the gate to open it. Move towards the left to encounter Northern Vow. Acquire the Cloud Steps mystic skill.

Go up the steps towards the high ground. Open the gate to enter the underground shrine, and defeat the enemies.

You will then encounter Zhang Lang. Use Cloud Steps to target the lower body and defeat him. Weak undercut units can take extra effects.

Pay respect to the General’s Shrine by bowing three times.

Move towards the high ground and open the gate on the left. Explore the area and find the hidden ladder. Climb it to reach the high ground and open the chest.
