Where to Bow in Where Winds Meet

Echoes in the Shrine is a Jianghu Legacy quest in Where Winds Meet, that you pick up at the General’s Shrine in Qinghe, where a man named Zhang San is kowtowing at the entrance.

After waking him and following the steps into the underground shrine, you clear bandits, unlock fire arrows, learn Cloud Steps, and defeat the boss Zhang Lang at the end of the dungeon. Only after this fight does the game ask you to Kowtow/Bow at the inner statue to advance and claim the hidden reward.

Step 1

In the Echoes in the Shrine quest, the Kowtowing objective begins after you enter the underground shrine and defeat Zhang Lang.

Step 2

Investigate the Stone Tablet after defeating Zhang Lang.

Step 3

After examining the tablet, step onto the green mat in front of the stairs and hold the prompted button. Be sure to bow/Kowtow three times to finish the objective.

How to Fix Bow Not Triggering in the Shrine

• Make sure you’ve defeated Zhang Lang and read the tablet so the bow ritual is actually active.
• Step off the mat, then re-enter and stand centered, facing the statue directly.
• Ensure you’re out of combat and not mid-sprint or dodge; wait a moment in an idle stance.
• Toggle walk/run and adjust your position slightly to help the prompt appear.
• If the prompt appears, remember you must perform three bows for it to register.
• If all else fails, leave the shrine area and return to reload the room.
