What to know

  • The Replay Editor records gameplay automatically (up to 5 minutes), with tools to trim, edit, and export.
  • On PC, exported files (videos/screenshots) are saved to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Skate\data, in subfolders like Videos and Screenshots.
  • For consoles, the exports go to system-specific capture galleries: Xbox’s Captures, PlayStation’s Media Gallery, etc.
  • Export options let you choose video format (MP4, WebM), resolution (up to 4K), frame rate, etc.

Capturing the perfect line or nailing a trick is a big part of what makes Skate 4 (officially skate.) so satisfying. The Replay Editor gives you full control to save and share those moments, but once you hit export, it isn’t always obvious where the files go. Depending on whether you’re on PC, Xbox, or PlayStation, the export locations are slightly different.

How exported clips are handled on each platform

Here’s a platform-breakdown of where your exports go and how you can access them:

Platform Default export location / gallery File types & options Notes & tips
PC (Windows) C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Skate\data\Videos (for video clips), and similarly …\Screenshots. Videos: MP4 or WebM; screenshots: JPG or PNG. You can choose resolution up to 2160 (4K), frame-rates like 24/30/60 fps. If you don’t see clips in the Videos subfolder, check broader “Videos” or even “Documents” depending on OS settings. Also ensure the game is allowed to save in those folders.
Xbox Xbox Captures gallery (the system’s built-in capture/capture history) Same export options allowed via Replay Editor before saving/exporting. You may need to navigate via Xbox’s capture / media options to copy/export off console.
PlayStation PlayStation Media Gallery (PS4 or PS5) Supported formats via game’s export tools before sending to gallery. Managing large exported files can be harder due to console storage limits. Consider reducing resolution/frame rate if storage is tight.

How to export and find your clips step by step

Step 1

Open the Replay Editor: hold down the D-Pad (or equivalent on PC) to bring up the toolkit, select the Replay Editor.

Step 2

Trim the recording by setting start and end points, then confirm your edit.

Step 3

Pick export options such as file format (MP4/WebM), resolution (up to 4K), and frame rate (24/30/60 fps). Screenshots can be JPG or PNG.

Step 4

Save the export. On PC, the file goes into the Skate AppData\data folder; on consoles, it appears in the Media Gallery or Captures.

Step 5

Locate the file. On PC, navigate with File Explorer. On consoles, open your gallery to view, share, or transfer the file.

Tips to avoid issues

  • Check storage space before exporting high-quality clips.
  • On PC, make sure hidden folders are visible so you can access AppData.
  • Always export clips before quitting the editor—unsaved edits can be lost.

In Skate 4, exports don’t disappear into thin air—they go to specific, easy-to-find places. On PC, they sit in your AppData folders, while on Xbox and PlayStation they end up in the console’s built-in media galleries. With the Replay Editor, you control how your content looks and where it goes, making it simple to keep or share your best tricks.
