In Wuthering Waves, after completing the previous chapter, When the Unknown Thrums Prologue quest acts as a narrative bridge rather than a challenge-heavy mission. You’ll mostly experience story beats, a controlled chase sequence, and world setup for what follows in Chapter III.
Location and how to start
The quest starts immediately after finishing the final Chapter II main quest. You receive a call from Shorekeeper confirming that the portal to Lahai-Roi has stabilized.
Your objective is straightforward: travel to Shashou Café in Honami City to meet Shorekeeper and initiate the next phase of the story.
As you enter the cafe, control temporarily switches to Aero Rover for the cutscene and opening sequence, so no manual setup is required on your end.
Walkthrough
Follow this step-by-step guide to complete the When the Unknown Thrums quest in Wuthering Waves Chapter 3.
Objective 1: Talk to Shorekeeper
Start at the Black Shores and enter the rift to enter Honami City.
Upon entering the rift, the When the Unknown Thrums quest is officially unlocked at Honami City.
Talk to the Shorekeeper about Lahai-Roi's coordinates and the tunnel completion. She tells you that it was undiscovered until Spacetrek Collective's expedition.
Accept Lahai-Roi's invitation from the Shorekeeper. It is an entryway into Startorch Academy that trains you for Lahai-Roi's strict clearance trials.
And then Chisa enters the scene as you leave for Lahai-Roi.
Objective 2: Follow the Shorekeeper to the Spatial Tunnel
After getting the Admission Letter for the Startorch Academy, follow the Shorekeeper to reach the Spatial Tunnel.
Namipon makes you voyage-ready, and off you go, as a cutscene follows.
Objective 3: Shake off the pursuing Voidworm
Reaching Lahai-Roi sets you at a completely different place.
You meet a fellow student of the Startorch academy with whom you fled away from the Voidworm storm.
Stabilize your controls to lose the Voidworm safely on your bike.
As you lose the Voidworm, a cutscene triggers in which you defeat and get out of the tunnel.

You finally reach the Startorch Academy.
You are officially introduced to Lynae upon reaching the academy, even though she was the one who saved you from the Voidworm.
You get a tour of the academy, and it concludes When the Unknown Thrums quest.
